Bra Size Matrix

The measurement tables below are a good guide; they are not an exact science. While they might be accurate and work well for women with smaller busts, it's not always the case for fuller figures. Please refer to the below images to help you identify an excellent fitting v's an ill-fitted bra. Understanding the correct positioning of a bra will assist in selecting the right size for your body shape.

How to Measure Bra Brand Size (Under-Bust)

The under-bust measurement will establish the band's size (the bit that goes around your body). Remember that many bra bands have some elasticity, so you must hold the tape measure firmly around your body while taking measurements. You don't want any slack, as a firmly fitting band will provide the most support, alleviating pressure on your shoulders from bra straps.

How to Measure Bra Cup Size (Over-Bust)

The over-bust measurement will help establish your cup size. Place the tape measure around your body, ensuring it is straight and without kinks. Then move it up to sit over the broadest part of your breasts - often over the nipple. You'll want it sitting lightly against your bust while you take the measurement.

Helpful Hints & Images to Help You Measure Bra Size And Adjust
Bra Underband

The underband should be firm, but not uncomfortable. If the underband is riding up, the back size is too big.

Bra Cups

The breasts should be fully encased within the wire, which should sit flat against the body. A larger cup size is needed if the wires dig in at the underarm or the bust bulges over the cups.

Bra Underwire

Wires should sit close to the chest, and the bra should stay in place when the arms are lifted. A smaller band size is needed if the wires lift under the band when you raise your arms.

Other Factors to consider when selecting A Bra
Bra Shapes

Quality materials look great and ensure optimum comfort and support for a longer-lasting bra. A good quality bra will give you great shape and won't leave you feeling the need to rip your bra off the first chance you get.

Different Bra Shapes

Finding the correct shaped bra for you is just as important as the fit. The correct shape bra can be very minimising to the bust. See our bra shape suggestions for ladies with a more prominent figure.

Balconette
Balconette

A balconette bra sits in between a plunge bra and a full cup bra, it’s like a sweetheart cut neckline. It’s very popular for bigger busts; they give great shape, lift and will give you comfort and support. They make great boudoir lingerie as well.

Full-Cup
Full Cup

Full cup bras are generally your everyday bra or t-shirt bras, where your whole breast is encased in the cup. This style offers great support, lift and comfort for fuller cups and a heavier bust.

Plunge Bras

Plunge bras are triangular shaped bras and the underwire stops near the base of your breasts. They are great for those tops that have a plunging neckline. Look in the mirror side-on whilst wearing your bra. Are your breasts still going south? If so, then a plunge bra will give you the lift you need from your bra.
